The Saratoga is part of the U.S. Atlantic fleet and participated in operation Desert Storm in 1990/91. Launched in 1956, this aircraft carrier is continuously up-dated, especially its radar and electronic systems.

It carries a powered Y boat that can be launched and recovered by a lightweight crane to enable rescues close to shore. It propellers are protected so it can take ground without damage.
